Immersive ritual performance, 2015
A private immersive experience intended to invert the private and public life by providing a space for indulgence amongst strangers. The environment included several intimate spaces with live video feeds, private spaces broadcast from one room to the next. Ample wine and a lavish display of fruit and confections surrounded a reproduction of Brancusi's Princess X was offered to attendees to satisfy a full hedonic celebration. The ritual performance illustrated willful servitude and liberation through the Satanic ideal. Celebrants choked on wine representative of the repressive traditions of the church and were redeemed through personal acts of defiance. Photos by Kate Sassak and Matt Anderson.
